How Everest Base Camp Journey Begins?


Your journey begins with a thrilling flight to Lukla 2,840m on Day 2, the gateway to Mount Everest, where the real adventure kicks off. As you hike along the Dudh Koshi River, crossing suspension bridge adorned with prayer flags, the towering snow-capped mountains Ama Dablam, Lhotse, & Nuptse start to reveal themselves.
Passing through Sagarmatha National Park on Day 3, you’ll trek to the famous Namche Bazar, a bustling Sherpa Town. This is where you can sip on a warm cup of butter tea while gazing at Everest itself on Day 4 acclimatization day.
From here onwards, the trails take you through Tengboche on day 5, home to the iconic Tengboche Monastery where chanted prayers will wake you up in the morning.
Similarly, Day 6 and Day 7 in Dingboche where you can acclimatize and enjoy the best view from Nangkartshang peak. Day 8 at Lobuche where the air gets thinner, and the adventure gets even more thrilling.
Finally, standing at Everest Base Camp (5,364m) on Day 9, you’ll be surrounded by some of the world’s tallest peaks, with the mighty Khumbu Icefall just ahead.  And for the ultimate sunrise experience, a hike to Kala Patthar (5,545m) on Day 10 rewards you with a breathtaking panoramic view of Mount Everest glowing in golden light.

Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu City, Nepal at Tribhuvan International Airport and Transfer to Hotel

Today will be your arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport where you will have to get your "On Arrival Visa" if you don't have. It can take 1 to 2 hour depending on seasons.

Outside, our representative will be waiting for to greet you and transfer you to your hotel located at Thamel area in a private vehicle. It can take from 30 to 40 minutes from Tribhuvan International Airport to Thamel. However within these time you will encounter many interesting places that will keep you busy.

Our hotel is well equipped with Restaurant and Bar so you can have a nice meal after you reach Hotel. Please inform us for what meals to be prepared ahead of time. So, the briefing will be done at the hotel during leisure time and activities like money exchange, renting or buying gears, will also be done on the same day.

Even if it's too late at night, we can manage something for you and we can manage gears for you. You just have to inform us ahead of time. Overnight Stay at Thamel Hotel.

Day 02: Fly from Lukla (2,850m / 9,350ft) and Trek to Phakding (2,650m / 8,562ft)

Todays goal is to reach Lukla, trek Phakding from Lukla which is 88.2 miles and takes 2 to 3 hours.

So, If you have a flight from Ramechhap Manthali Airport, you will have a long 4 to 5 hours of drive from Kathmandu to Ramechhap. Thus, we will depart early in the morning at 2 AM.

If you have a flight from Kathmandu then we will depart from hotel early morning to catch first flight.

It will take 30 minutes from Kathmandu to Lukla and 15 minutes from Manthali Airport.

Basically, we will have a thrilling flight to Lukla today which is the gateway to the Everest region. After reaching Lukla, you will meet your other team members like Porter (if added) or Guide and start your trek to Phakding which is 4.8 miles from Lukla.

At Lukla check post, you will get your permits. From there, you will follow the old trekking trail which lead to Thadokoshi village, Ghat, Chutthawa vilalge and then Phakding village.

It takes almost 2 to 3 hours to reach Phakding from Lukla and you will have overnight stay at Phakding.

Day 3: Trek from Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3,440m / 11,285ft)

Today's goal is to reach Namche Bazar which will be a challenging day covering 6.64 miles and takes 6 to 7 hours.

So, after having a wonderful night at Phakding, today you will have a really hard trek because the difficulty level of Namche Bazar is high. However, the path is extremely fun as you will cross multiple suspension bridges, follow Dudhkoshi River, and get the glimpse of mountains.

On this Day, you will pass through Tok Tok Village, Monjo, and Jorsalle where you will have your lunch. At Monjo, you will stop for a short permit check.

Tight your shoeless as you will have a lots of steep uphill and downhill today. After you reach Larja Dovan you will have another approximately 2 hours to reach Namche Bazar. Overnight stay at Namche.

Day 4: Acclimatization at Namche Bazaar & Hike to Hotel Everest View

Today's goal is to have a rest day at Namche adjusting your body with the 3,440m altitude while hiking to the highest location hotel called "Hotel Everest view" which is only 1.5 miles away.

So, it is very essential to allow your body to adjust altitude which is why acclimatization day is a must to avoid altitude sickness.

Now during acclimatization day, your guide will lead you to Char Camp, a viewpoint above Namche Bazaar offering breathtaking mountain scenery. From here, you can see Mount Everest (8,848m), Lhotse (8,516m), Ama Dablam (6,838m), Thamserku (6,608m), Kusum Kangaru (6,367m), Kongde (6,187m), Khumbila, Tawache (6,495m), Nuptse (7,861m), and several other peaks.

A statue of the legendary Sherpa mountaineer Tenzing Norgay is also located here.

Take a break at Hotel Everest View, where you can enjoy tea and soak in the stunning Himalayan panorama before descending back to Namche Bazaar.

Day 05: Trek from Namche Bazaar to Tengboche/ Deboche (3,855m / 12,850ft):

Todays goal is to reach Tengboche which is approximately 6.08 miles away and takes 5 to 6 hours duration. It will be a little hard journey so we recommend trekkers to walk slowly.

The first part of the trail is smooth and well-maintained, offering breathtaking views of Mount Everest. This section of the trek features a gentle and steady elevation, with wide, clean paths.

After about two hours of pleasant trekking, you will reach Lausasa, where the trail splits. The northward uphill path leads to Gokyo Lake Valley, while the eastward downhill path continues toward Tengboche.

From Lausasa, you will descend for approximately one hour to reach Phungi Thanga, where we take a break for lunch.

After lunch, you will cross a suspension bridge and stop at a check post for permit verification.

The next section of the trek involves a two-hour uphill climb to Tengboche. This ascent is quite steep, so it’s essential to walk at a slow pace and stay hydrated.
